My Wedding Gown

Posted on August 1, 2007 - Filed Under Wedding Stuff

lady fariel front lady fariel backI mentioned to Harmonia, who likes medieval stuff, that she would have liked my wedding gown. She said I should post pics - so this is it. The picture is not of me but just my dress. It was custom made by Fairy Fashions in Freeport, NS, Canada. The back shows the beaded over-train that reflects the light and just made it all seem so ethereal. My dress had a peach colored insert and I wore a tiara rather than the type of headdress shown here. But I thought it was the most beautiful thing ever. The dress was not cheap but they did a wonderful job and I was working then so I could justify it. If anyone is interested they have many gorgeous styles here. Click on “wedding gowns” in the sidebar to see them all.

Oh that is lovely! I’ve always liked the dresses from the Renaissance period. If I decide to get married, I’ll make some renaissance dress.

    your dress looks lovely!

Mine was similar, in that the sleeves were very long and flowy. everything else about it was fairly plain, there is ivy embroidered on the bodice, but that’s about it for detail. I also wore a tiara instead of a veil. We were married outside at his parents house with about 250 guests, in September. There was just enough of a breeze to make my sleeves blow around while we were saying our vows. Perfection.

What was yours like? and how long have you and TGH been hitched?

WOW! That awesome! I bet it cost a fortune! ;) Thanks for sharing…it’s wonderful!

Thank you, ladies! Laura, TGH and I have been married 3+ years. I’ll tell you more details if you send me your email. You can send it to me through my “Email Me” tab at the top of my blog. I couldn’t find one on yours!

OMG, what a beautiful dress!!! I love it! So lovely! I bet it looked amazing with a tiara - I think I would prefer one of those to the headress the model is wearing.

LOL. Hannah - I thought it looked kinda like someone just dropped a doily on this poor girl’s head. Other than that she looks fabulous, but that is why I went for the tiara as well. ;)

That dress is something else! I’m sure you were lovely, probably more so than the model above and you felt like royalty! Thank you for sharing, but I’d also like to see YOU wearing the dress! ;)
Heather you are so sweet. While I was no way near as tall and thin as that lovely model, I DID feel like royalty. I am a girly-girl at heart and love the frilly/flirty things. I emailed you a pic!

And your wedding dress is gooooorgeous. It would be worth having a church wedding, to wear that…

    Wow that is so beautiful!!!
It rivals Princess Diana’s gown by far!
You must have felt very special, wearing it that day!

    That is gorgeous Teeni!

I bet you looked way better than the model and how cool, it came from my home and native land!
    :-)
One of many reasons I have a soft spot for my Canadian friends! ;) Thanks, Kami!
