I’m a Bodacious Friend
Posted on December 15, 2007 - Filed Under Award
I’m too bodacious for my blog. LOL. I received these two awards from Tish at the Kat House. I mentioned Tish a few posts back and how I first met her through the Blogs We Love site. At the Kat House, though, she shares her love of animals and her love of fellow bloggers as evidenced by these beautiful awards she has presented me with. Please check her site out if you haven’t had the chance already. She also has a new site where she will share helpful info for bloggers. You can find that at BloggingGal. Thanks for these great awards Tish!

I had to look up “bodacious” just to make sure it was a family word and okay to use on my blog. LOL. Just kidding but I did look it up. Here is what dictionary.com said for a definition:
| 1. | thorough; blatant; unmistakable: a bodacious gossip. |
| 2. | remarkable; outstanding: a bodacious story. |
| 3. | audacious; bold or brazen. |
After reading the definition, I immediately thought of the following people because they truly are remarkable and I think their blogs stand out. I’d like to pass this award on to Ms. Red at Dr. Pepper is Good for the Soul (I truly can’t believe she doesn’t have this one already), to Ms. Diva at I am the Diva who is truly bodacious, and Kami at Kami’s Khlopchyk who is right up there with the best of them. I was also going to give one to AntiBarbie but I found she already has one in her trophy room. And well deserved, I might add.
This next award is a very special award and I want to award it to many of you. If your name is in my blogroll, then please take a copy for yourself. I don’t normally get to call out my male friends much so I want to make special mention of them and make sure they know this applies to them as well.
MacBros at MacBros’Place - You remind me of my nutty cousin who I used to play a lot of Monopoly with when I was a kid. He once took the little iron piece and put it on the radiator so his sister would burn her fingers when she picked it up. I thought that was rather creative and funny. Funny only because he never got to use the trick since the little iron melted onto the radiator. LOL. I don’t know why you remind me of him but you do. I feel a kinship with you and you are a good sport. So please make sure you take a copy of the award for yourself.
Mark at Idle Ramblings of a Slightly Mad Man - Like my buddy, Ms. Red, you have a way of tackling subjects nobody else would feel comfortable with. And you do it well. I oftentimes find myself cringing through a post you’ve written but I simply must read through to the end. And I must like it because I keep going back for more. You have earned my respect for that and you’ve always been nice and had kind words for me so you’ve also earned my friendship.
Mike at Exit 78 - I was never a great student of history, having the bad memory I have and it’s even worse when it comes to dates, but Mike is actually getting me interested in Civil War history. Mainly, I think it is because of the way he posts about it. I get more involved in the stories and not so hung on on dates/times (or maybe it’s because I know he isn’t going to grade me)? Either way, his beautiful collection of blogs (photos, travels, history, anecdotes) and his witty/intelligent/caring posts make me feel like he is a good friend to have.
Thomas at Thomas - Technical Blogger - I met you through Opal I think and at first I was intimidated by all your technical knowledge. But I soon saw that you were more than just a techno-geek. You had insight that you were willing to share, a beautiful daughter and family, a good sense of humor and a kind heart. I may not always understand the technical stuff like I used to, but you played a game of volleyblog with me and made me feel like I mattered. Thank you, my good friend.
I originally wanted to write up something like that for each of you but if I had included all my female blogger buddies as well, I would have been here all night and not gotten my post up. Be thankful for that because you all must know by now how chatty I can get. But I do hope you all realize how much you mean to me and will take a copy of the award as my seasonal gift to you. Thank you for making blogging fun for me.
Hugs all around!

Me? Bodacious?
Why I can’t even begin to explain how honoured I am Teeni!
Thanks for making my day!
Oh and giving me a reason to post in the midst of the fury that is my life right now

BIG HUGS my bodacious blogging buddy! HA! How’s that for an aliteration?
LOL - Glad you like your awards, Kami. You really do have remarkable and funny stories at your blog and I enjoy your writing. Thanks for the hugs back.
THank you.You deserved those awards
Don’t forget to take a copy of your friendship award!
Wow how nice of you Teeni!
YES you certainly deserve a zillion awards.
I was just remembering how you were the first commenter on my blog and have ever since been such a great blogging friend.
I love this…
Take care!
Really, Merri? I didn’t know I was the first! That is really cool! Thanks so much for the kind words. You know I feel the same about you!
Congrats, Teeni!! You have quite a few awards now, and all of them VERY deserved! Well done, my friend!
Thank you, Hannah! It is nice getting them because I like reading what people have to say when they award them to you. They are a fun little plus in the blogging world, aren’t they?
Hooray! thank you teeni! you’re the bees knees sweetie pie!!
You, Ms Teeni, are most definitely a boooodacious friend! Congrats, deary!
And thank you so much for passing it on to me. I feel quite honored, really :] And I love the little award, too cute.
Don’t forget - you get BOTH awards my dear bodacious one! Glad you like. You are a totally outstanding blogger and friend.
So you think I’m nutty huh? Well you’re right.
Thanks for the reward.
LOL. Yeah, but I meant it in a good way, of course. I think you’re the happy kind, like I am so that is good.
MacBros - You got nutty. I got cringing. Somehow I think you made out better I than did.
Thank you for the honor Teeni.
Now I want to know what posts make you cringe.
I hope you are feeling better these days!
You’re very welcome, buddy! Oh, let’s see - your “I Have Moles,” “When You Gotta Go” - posts like that. Something about the zit picking, skin peeling, bodily eliminations posts make me cringe but I still read them! At least you are honest and tell it like it is. I think that is what I have always liked about you.
teeni - I stop reading feeds for a couple of days and I get an award? Wow thank you very much. It is important to me that my technical content is accessible. What good is writing the content if people can’t read it?
What you mentioned about not only writing technical content, but also writing about my family is a balance I try to constantly maintain. I want to keep my blog technically focused, but also let people know that there is a real person behind the writing.
How can people not get sucked into playing games with you, you are so much fun
Thanks again for the BFF award!
Congrats to you on your well deserved awards.
Thanks so much, Thomas! You really put that much better than I did, about letting people know there is a real person behind the writing at your blog and I think that is one of the things that kept drawing me in. I didn’t get the cold impersonal feeling I can get at other places. I’m glad to have met you!
[…] 19, 2007 I have been awarded another award from my friend Teeni over at Vaguetarian Tea Room and no it is not the Blogger who has not posted consistently lately […]
Oh teeni…
there’s something for you over at my house.
you’re a peach.
OOoooh! You know how I love/hate surprises!!!!!!!!
**leaves the dishwater running and heads over to the Diva’s**

Teeni - I didn’t forget this one. I just had it set aside for when I had a few minutes where I remembered it. I did notice that you said “or maybe it’s because I know he isn’t going to grade me?” Well, I am going to and you get a “super A+”
Thanks so much.
I’m not much of a one for passing things along yet - still learning my way around this community aspect of blogging and don’t have a ton of friends to share things with. I am posting the awards on the blog on my “about” page.
Again, thanks!
Oh, Mike -that is a great place to put your awards. Then when you have new visitors to your site who check your about page, they will see right away how loved you are!
And thanks so much for the “super A+!” I have never gotten one of those before but I’m sure happy to have one now!
And you, dear sir, are very welcome.
